UNESCO Bangkok is pleased to announce a photo contest on the theme: Promoting Gender Equality in Education. This contest is an effort for demonstrating “gender equality in action” through the means of photos for contributing to better understanding of what gender equality to education, in education and through education means to all of us. The 12 wining photos will be featured in UNESCO Bangkok’s 2009 Gender in Education Calendar and will also be posted on UNESCO Bangkok’s website.

On 7 July 2008, Southern Sudan celebrated its annual Girls’ Education Day, an opportunity to acknowledge achievements in girls’ enrollment and galvanize action to close the gender gap in education. Over 7,000 Tanzanians Give Their Opinions on livelihood, education, health, governance, infrastructure, well-being, citizen participation, and more.
